Osteochilus bleekeri, a new species of fish from Borneo and Sumatra (Teleostei: Cyprinidae)Abstract
Osteochilus bleekeri, new species, is described from Borneo and Sumatra. The name Osteochilus triporos (Bleeker, 1852) had been used earlier for this species. It is a synonym of O. microcephalus (Valenciennes, 1842) and the species has no valid name. It is distinguished from all other species of Osteochilus by having a large black blotch on the anterior part of the dorsal fin and 7-8 rows of spots on the flank, 10-12{ branched dorsal-fin rays, 27-32 gill rakers on the first gill arch, and 3 tubercles at the tip of the snout.
