Knodus longus sp. n. – ein neuer Salmler (Teleostei: Characiformes: Characidae) aus den bolivianischen Anden, Einzugsgebiet des río Beni.Abstract.
A new species – Knodus longus sp. n. – from río Warinilla (or Harinilla) near Choiro (Bolivia) is described. It is a rather small species of the genus Knodus EIGENMANN, 1911 (lateral line complete, basis of caudal fin scaled, four teeth in the second row of premaxillary), which differs from all congeners through the following combination of features: (1) body elongated, remember on a species of the genus Creatobranchia (body height 4.22 to 4.42 times in SL), (2) head small
(4.01 to 4.54 times in SL), (3) 38+3–4 scales in lateral line, (4) 17 to 18 scales praedorsal, (5) anal fin with iii–iv 15–16 (i) fin rays, (6) snout subterminal, (7) four tri- to fivecuspid teeth in the second row of premaxillary and (8) a deep blue-black longitudinal band from gill-cover to the tips of middle caudal fin rays.
